WiseGate_HolidayThis year has been quite a journey for the Wisegate team and our members. We were fortunate to have welcomed many new vetted professionals who recently joined our community and are incredibly thankful for those who continued to participate in the Wisegate conversation, helping us add value, advice, and important experience to the collaborative IT knowledge sharing service we feel so privileged to provide.

In 2015, we continued to prove that our business model works. IT professionals truly need to easily collaborate on IT issues with their peers right when they need advice. They don’t have time to wait for Ivory Tower experts to spend months compiling and distributing information that isn’t always a direct match for the expertise they’re seeking. That’s why we ended our year by debuting a suite of new member-inspired digital content. We hope to give our members the best resources and tools to be successful professionals in an ever-changing industry:

Wisegate Magazine: This monthly digital magazine includes articles, analysis and member interviews recapping top trends, events, and conversations. Each article briefly describes the most relevant points, quotes from members with experience, and then links to additional content, for members who need to deep-dive. The January issue of Wisegate Magazine covers strategies for justifying the CISO role to people without a tech background, tips for developing a cloud strategy, and the pros and cons of ad blocking among other IT issues.

Roundtable Wrap-Ups: Each week, our members are invited to join focused conversations around questions they share, or solutions they’ve found. The live conversation is the hub of these roundtables, with members both helping and challenging each other. We record and summarize these in-depth conversations, publishing a summary with top insights, stats, and analysis from the discussion, as well as the presentation, transcripts the recording (anonymized if needed), and other assets, making this rich resource of experience available to all members.

Three Questions Podcast: Our Editor-in-Chief Elden Nelson has three questions to ask the Wisegate community: What’s the coolest thing you’re working on? What problems are you encountering, and what’s the impact on your organization? These quick conversations are the foundation of short, 10-15 minute podcasts, letting members know what challenges their peers are encountering, how they’re solving them, and what impact they’re having in their company. We also provide an abstract and transcript, making it easy for members to get the amount of information they need, when they need it.

The Wisegate Pulse: Weekly member polls focus on a current event or evergreen challenge members confront. Members vote and comment for a week, providing a good sense on the direction(s) experienced professionals lean. Interested members then join for a half-hour water cooler-style open-mic online event, discussing the results of the poll and why their stance either matches or conflicts with the consensus. This lively conversation gives members valuable insight into where their peers stand on the topics that matter to them. After this discussion, the results, recorded event, and additional analysis are all provided to members.

The Wisegate Watchlist: We realize that members need to get information on relevant topics both from Wisegate and other, external sources. More often than not, members just don’t have the time to find great resources, sifting out the chaff. The Wisegate Watchlist does this for them, providing a pre-vetted list of information they can use, from sources they can trust.

We hope that our resources of peer-driven content bring you as much glee as they have given us. As part of our commitment to you, we look forward to making 2016 the best yet!

Happy holidays from all of us at Wisegate!
