Wisegate is a private invitation-only community of senior information technology professionals that helps members succeed in IT by arming them with the depth of practical knowledge they need to confidently keep pace with the ever changing demands of their job.
Back in 2010, while thinking of the conversations she had had with hundreds of IT professionals over the course of her career (that included executive positions with technology startups and established vendors), Sara Gates, Wisegate Founder and CEO considered the reasons why so many senior IT professionals expressed concerns over the difficulties of finding the information they needed.
It wasn’t for a lack of information – vendors, media, analysts and online IT forums (filled with millions of members) were all standing ready to offer their helpful advice and opinions. But IT professionals, still wondered… “Where can I find the real story about how products work (or don’t work) and how other companies handle complex IT challenges?”
It really came down to a question of, “What are my peers doing? And is it working or not?” Peers that had hands-on experience held the practical knowledge that these IT professionals were seeking. But most of them lacked the time and superhuman talent for networking with their peers, so they were stuck – sorting through lots of noise and hype from vendor pitches, articles, analyst reports and forums.
Sara thought: "There has to be a better way."
Wisegate was founded to provide senior IT professionals with a safe haven where they could solve IT’s toughest challenges and share real-life experiences away from the daily deluge of technology hype, unproven IT best practices and case studies filled with half truths. As a private community that exists to serve senior IT professionals, it is Wisegate’s mission to help its members confidently keep pace with the demands of their job by providing a trusted environment where knowledge and ideas can be safely exchanged and debated.
Wisegate provides members with direct access to other senior IT professionals who have been there and done that and have the battle scars to prove it. We screen out the inexperienced and ban vendor influence, so that members can collaborate and have candid conversations about what’s working and what’s not – including the good, the bad and all the helpful details – with the best and the brightest people in IT.
With access to detailed product reviews and vendor references from actual users, as well as in-depth stories of IT projects gone wrong and challenges overcome, Wisegate members can finally get down to business and focus on what matters most – making timely and smart decisions that help make their companies successful.
